January is a mischievous and arrogant young man, who has a swagger to his walk. He's very confident in himself and in all of his talents, and he considers himself to be above many other people. He's someone who doesn't like to abide by common rules as he considers himself to be above them. He dislikes it when others attempt to order him around and will often combat their commands in any way he can. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem as though he's able to fight his current situation, so he's pretty pissed about it. He hates not having a choice in what he wants to do in life.

Despite his scathing arrogance, January is actually brilliantly intelligent, which is one of the causes for his arrogance. Despite not having memories, he has seemed to retain all of his expertise in mathematics as well as pokemon battling. He can be very strategically sharp, but his arrogance can actually get in the way of that. He can either overestimate himself or underestimate his opponent. He's very competent in battle until he starts to get ahead of himself. He also has an absolutely obsession with being the best out of any other trainer. He wants to reach heights that no one else has reached before. His ambition is also rather useful to him, as it helps his determination to survive through his current ordeal.

He's not easily provoked by insults, either. He has thick skin, and will often provoke others who have attempted to provoke him. It's definitely not easy to get him to retaliate to insults because his pride isn't easily injured. His amount of self-confidence is so massive that it's almost impossible to scratch it. He doesn't get anxious or depressed easily. That being said, he hates liars and tricky people. He doesn't ever lie and hates dishonesty. He'll always say the truth, but he won't be bluntly hurtful about it. His arrogance isn't detrimental to his social life. He has the potential to be quite amiable and hates "street scum" such as thieves and scammers.
